about us

bodywork

Our team has over 18 years of combined experience working with many different body types and individual needs. More than just “a massage,” bodywork at Amherst Massage Therapy is an opportunity to be held with love and without judgement. We see the body through a fascial lens — as an interconnected system in which no part is separate from the whole. No symptom is purely physical, and true healing happens when we address the spiritual and emotional root of our dis-ease. Each therapist’s style is unique, but you can expect to experience long, slow strokes and holds, gentle rocking, plenty of face and head work, and attention to your specific needs. Many sessions end with the crystal sound bowls and/or tuning forks which live in our office.

  • Bella was amazing! I felt heard, she was focused, kind, stayed on task with minimal conversation. The massage felt great and exceeded all expectations! I already booked again!

    — Marianne T.

  • "This was the best massage I’ve ever had... hands down. I will return often. Hakim is super friendly, very patient, a great listener, and he’s a student of his craft."

    — Norm J.

  • Hakim is an amazing massage therapist, truly gifted at not only healing the body but also the mind... he is an insightful person with wisdom and a sense of calmness to share. In the years I went to him, my back pain considerably reduced and I began to feel freer as a whole human being, within myself.

    —Meghana M.

  • This was my first massage outside of the typical spa setting and it was the best experience I've had thus far.

    —Haley

  • I've had massages before but never body work. There is a difference. Hakim is an intuitive healer. He's very kind and easy to talk to as well as knowledgeable and professional. I can tell this is a work of the heart for him. I left with my body feeling 10 years younger and my spirit feeling so free and light. Being pain free is an amazing feeling.

    —Gwendolyn D.

  • Hakim offers such a warm, intuitive experience. I walk away feeling refreshed and cared for, feelings one doesn't regularly get in normal life. I'm honestly loathe to recommend him too highly, lest all his appointments get nabbed. But, if you want to feel like you've been seen and soothed, Hakim is your person. Just don't take my spot.

    — Caitlin K

  • As a young woman I tend to lean towards female practitioners but working with Hakim has opened my mind. He created an atmosphere of ease, safety, and comfort that allowed me to feel completely taken care of before, during, and after receiving body work. I left feeling aligned, rejuvenated, and cared for. Hakim is a truly gifted healer with the utmost respect for his practice.

    — Malia’Kekia N.

  • Highly recommended. Very chill vibes, very knowledgeable. Adapts to the clients needs and preferences. And just a good person. Hakim is the best!

    — Skye B.

about the owner

Hakim Noah is an expert bodyworker and spiritual guide with an intuitive touch that is connected, slow, and deeply healing. He has seven years’ experience working with clients as a bodyworker, spiritual guide, and movement teacher. He works best with clients who arrive with curiosity, a longing for transformation, and a willingness to enter into a collaborative healing relationship.

Hakim seeks to serve each person’s highest self by reflecting back to them their own divine nature. In each session, his goal is to transmit unconditional love — through touch (bodywork), words (coaching/writing), and presence.

our philosophy

life is sacred.

movement is medicine.

(every)body holds the key to their own healing.

symptoms aren’t problems to be fixed, but signals to be listened to.

presence + anything = transformation

we are all deserving of love.

all of life is one.

let's begin where you are

foundation training

Foundation Training is a movement practice developed by Dr. Eric Goodman to reduce pain, restore natural posture, and decompress the spine.

Foundation Training uses a combination of powerful movements, intentional poses, and conscious breathing work to activate the muscles in your posterior chain. When practiced regularly, your pain diminishes, your resistance to injury increases, and your body comes to life:

🍑 Your torso, pelvis, and backside strengthen

🍐Your hips reclaim their intended role as the epicenter of movement

🦴 Your spine decompresses and space opens throughout your torso

🫁 Your breathing capacity and oxygen levels increase

💪 Your muscles learn to correctly support your structure and posture improves

🌈 Your whole body becomes integrated and moves more efficiently

When these things happen, a cascade of healthful changes happen in your body and your life. This program is not a temporary remedy, but a systematic solution that creates long-term health.

“Hakim has shown me how important Foundation Training is to the way I literally move in the world. I'm still a novice but I already feel more aligned in my body, more agile in my meditative and strenuous movements, and I even have more cognitive energy.”

— Norm J., Ph.D
